One of my hens has had a droopy tail for at least two months now.
She's 22 weeks old and has yet to start laying. Her eyes are clear, nostrils clear, breathing fine, and behaving perfectly normal. I've not noticed any unusual poops. It wasn't always droopy and was at a normal "carrying" position but one day it just dropped. No other chickens from that order has a droopy tail and they are all perfectly healthy. She still has it drooping after being in the main flock for under 2 months. I've found that a droopy tail normally means they are ill or not feeling well (at least when it happens in my flock) but there aren't any concerns I've had with her.
They are 24/7 free range with free access to oyster shells and get fed with DuMOR 16% Layer Pellets and get fed scraps and scratch regularly (2-3x a week, less than 10% of total diet).
I've attached a picture of her current droopy tail position. She is behaving perfectly normal and I'm not too concerned with her behavior but I do find it odd that she has had this for so long and it hasn't gone away. Any ideas what to do or what might be the cause?
