Someone dropped off a rooster at my house and not sure how to get rid of him. How can I find a new home for him?

You could call Animal Control. They might be willing to take in the rooster. If they will, that is probably the easiest way to deal with the situation.

I suppose you could butcher the rooster and make chicken soup, but I don't know whether you would be comfortable with that option.

Otherwise, this forum has a rehoming section, or you could list the rooster on craigslist, or call a local animal food store (they might have suggestions, they probably know local chicken keepers, they might let you put a notice on their bulletin board, and so forth.)

Or you could keep the rooster as a pet, if you want to and if your area allows that.

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
He's beautiful.
I would call animal control or if you have a place to keep him safe and away from your flock, I would take lots of pictures of him and advertise him on local FB Poultry groups and CL and find him a new home. I assume you cannot or do not want to keep him.

Welcome!
Chickens don't just 'leave home', if home is good. It's so much more likely that somebody dumped him, poor guy. And a rooster living anywhere nearby would be heard, so the OP would have a first place to check as his previous home.
If this happened here, I'd be very concerned that this bird could bring some awful disease to my flock, and make every effort to get him off the property immediately.
All good options are already mentioned, can't think of any more.
Good luck,
Mary
