People seem to have radically different experiences with humidity. We don't seem to know all the factors yet. If I were starting over again I would take the humidity numbers given by websites and hatcheries and use that as a base for a first hatch. Then experiment further with dry incubation or higher humidity to see what happens. If you really want to get accurate number each egg and weigh it throughout hatch to see if it is losing the correct amount of weight (and therefore moisture) to reach the proper weight loss at the end. Then candle and match pics of the air sac size to see if it's increasing the correct amount. That's how I know under 40% for me results in too large of air sacs. I lowered the humidity 5-10% each hatch from the numbers on the hatchery sites until I started to see problems and the air sacs were obviously not matching the pic. At that point lots failed to pip and zip properly due to not enough space left in the egg to position. You can also go the other way and compare the same along with how many drown. I've kinda found the upper limit for my incubator by accident when I let humidity spikes during hatching get out of hand.
