Hi! The name is Sten (as said in the username) or Stennie. I'm 20 years old.

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I've had chickens on and off since I was very young girl, anywhere from 3-7 years old, I'm not sure.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

Around 12, with 5 guinea fowl.
(3) What breeds do you have?

I'm not good with remembering breed names, to be honest. But the ones I know I have are Rhode Island Reds, and Plymouth Rock, along with another breed of black-feathered hens which I can't recall the name of.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?

I just think they're neat. I like watching them.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?

Beyond college, I like writing and drawing, as well as some video games. One of the games I play is Stardew Valley, which I only mention because, y'know, farming. I used to read a lot, but over the years, I've lost the energy for it.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

I have a younger brother, along with my two parents, my mom being the one who introduced me to these birds, and my grandmother lives in a house that we attached to ours. I also have six dogs and eleven goats. I don't have a job just yet, but I'm enrolled in college, majoring in Journalism (well, Pre-Journalism, at the moment).
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? :D

I found BYC a really long time ago, and my family had a shared account at one time. I joined because more than once we've encountered issues with our hens and been unable to find answers, and I thought, 'Why not just make an account already and ask them myself?'

Welcome to BYC sten! Thank you for joining 😁

I started with plymoth rock and Rhode island reds! If you'd like to share pics I'd love to see them.
Thanks for the welcome!
That's nice! They're good birds, as far as I'm concerned. I don't have any photos on hand, unfortunately, but maybe someday!
