Dry hatching

I found that during incubation keeping it more closed than open retained heat. As the chick grows it will need more oxygen so by day 18 increasing humidity help them hatch so I thought more oxygen might be better. As they start to pip they need more oxygen so that's when I open it all the way. It's a balance between retaining heat and allowing the chicks to breathe.

Oh ok thank you for your help!

I ended up with 19 out of 21 fertile eggs, doing the 100% dry hatch, no water added at any time, I kept my vent open about 1/4 of the way until they started hatching and then opened it to 1/2 way.
I didn’t open the incubator until day 18, when I candled them, humidity averaged around 40% through the day that started hatching, then it jumped to 88% while they were hatching.
