Dry Incubation vs. Regular

Hello!

I am thinking about hatching some eggs in my little bitty incubator. I have done this twice before with regular incubation (not dry).
I was just wondering, do people who do dry incubation have better hatch rates than regular?

I've tried both. I was unsure of what the result would be, but since I had so many eggs to start with, I thought i'd give it a trial run. I found with dry incubation that my chicks weren't doing as well. I had better success with my regular incubation. Then again I've noticed some breeds to be harder to hatch than the others. Some reason, the ameraucana chicks will hatch through anything. But from my experience, dry incubation didn't have a higher success rate.

I have a couple small incubators and I just stuck with the regular incubating since so many people told me to stay away from dry incubation. Some do hatch out, but I noticed they had a harder time.

I think alot of it depends on what your normal temperature and humidity is in your area. If you are in a dry arid area the dry hatch method is going to be too dry. I am in Maine and usually we have enough relative humidity to dry hatch. We have not had rain in the last two months so I had to add water to my bator half way through cause it was dropping below 30%. Have about a week left for this hatch eggs are still doing well.
