DRYHATCH SUCCESSFUL!!! Look what it brought me :)

Whoo Hoo! Well I have been tweaking my dry hatch incubation and it worked excellent. At least I think so.

Here are pics of the gorgeous Blue Laced Red Wyandottes from JanieMarie. Oh my gosh if mine can grow up to be half as nice as hers...
I had 9 out of the 10 hatch! They are chunks.

And here are the Marans and Javas that were their hatching buddies. 9 out of 12 Marans hatched and both Java eggs.

Thank you MaggieRae and Writer of words! I have to give credit to JanieMarie. She was kind enough to let me test hatch and I think I did her proud. 9 out of 10! But they were her eggs and someday I will have beautiful hens and Roos now too.

Thank you Cynthia! I am going to take pics of your little chunkers tomorrow. I was going to today but then a few family emergencies came my way.

They are feathering out so nice and they are so very sweet. Truly the sweetest chicks I have ever had.

Just out of curiosity, what temps and humidity did you run on your dry hatch? Circulated or fan?

You don't need that many. If I leave now I can be there in a day or two tops and take them off your hands. I had such bad luck with my BLRW hatch. Only one little guy made it and he is not doing well. I am going to try to find a started bird to buy.

If I could change one thing it would be to have seperate hatchers for each egg breed. The ones needing higher humidity like Marans and those with thinner shells who don't need as much.

I had to help a few out, and did have one sticky chick although it was only stuck a tiny bit to its thigh (It still couldn't zip right like that)

But 9 out of 10 BLRW pipped so that is a thumbs up for dry hatching and the chicks not "drowning" 9 out of 12 Marans too. And the 2 Javas. I only lost 3 eggs out of 24.

Not sure if one of the Marans will make it. It is small and weak. But it pipped!
