I would really like a big basket of eggs for a decoration, but I do not want to blow them all out. Can I just put them on a shelf somewhere and let them dry out on there own? Also if this works how long does it take?

Thanks
Erica

Sure. I have some really old eggs, maybe 6 years or so old if not more just sitting upright inside of shot glasses drying. They just get lighter and lighter over time and as long as you make sure the shell wasn't cracked, they should be fine. Just set up your basket and leave it there. A sniff test every week or so for the first few months might be a good idea, but I've never had a problem.

Edit: Found this for you
