Drying out combs

So I have question about preventing frostbite/drying out combs.
Can I use Chopstick?
Any other things I could use?
 
I don’t use anything on combs to prevent frostbite, but I just try to keep humidity low, prevent drafts, and allow overhead ventilation high up near ceiling. Nothing should be put on combs after frostbite occurs, and ointments and creams can freeze. In this article the author suggests using a waxy product called Mushers Secret before temps get below freezing:
