My Chinese goose runs my Muscovy duck off her nest long enough to lay her own egg and then mama duck resumes her position on the nest. I’ve tried placing a few goose eggs in another nest to attract Lucy away from the duck’s brood but Lucy is determined to share the nest. I check the nest daily for unmarked eggs but sometimes it’s late in the evening due to my work schedule. I am collecting a few goose eggs to incubate. My question is this. If mama duck sits on the goose egg all day, (it’s good and warm), can I add it to my stockpile for incubation?

I don't see why not, but I'm not an expert. I would think the body temp is the same or similar.
BTW, that's a pretty smart, but lazy, Goose. Makes someone else do the work.
P.S. Welcome to BYC!
Lol. She has proven herself not to be a very good mother That’s why I’m hoping to incubate and raise a few of her babies myself. This will be my first ever attempt though and I’m not so sure I can do any better😊. Thanks for your help and the welcome!
