I have a pair of production bred brown Africans from Townline hatchery. The gander does not have lobes and has the body of a production bred china. The female has a duck keel and as do the other brown females I have with the exception of a yearling female. The female in question is dual lobed. My question is is it possible to breed a lobless gander to a duck keeled female and get dual lobed offspring. The whole concept of lobes and duck keels is confusing. I know duck keels in africans are a defect. Is there any possible way to get rid of the duck keel besides not breeding to that female? What is the difference between a single lobed bird and a duck keel?
