So I've got 3 D'Uccles right now. One pullet and the other two are almost a month old, so I know I have a long time to wait for them. I'm not worried about when they will lay their first eggs so much as, I know with bantams, they are more "ornimental" chickens as opposed to good old fashioned egg layers. Well, with 3 bantams, and possibly a silkie pullet here soon, when they all start laying, what can I expect as far as eggs from them? I have a family of 4 but we don't eat eggs every day, but I wanted chickens specifically for egg laying, and secondly for the joy of raising them. I chose bantams because I have a small space and small coop. So, what can I expect? Will I see an egg or two maybe every other day or something like that? Maybe twice a week? I've not found any information yet that could give me details. TIA!
