So, as a newbie, I obtained two D'Uccle chicks. They've only ever lived with each other and no one else. They've received top notch care and nutrition. One of them who I've a always believed to be a pullet is doing rooster things. S/he is crowing, but I also heard hens can crow too. It is colored and acts like a hen but I caught it crowing with the other one who is definitely a cockerel.
I've done some research and I've found that raising birds in such small groups could cause them to grow at a speedy pace and develop more quickly. Also, I've never been able to find a picture of a Mille Fleur D'Uccle rooster colored like a hen.
I'm so confused! Can someone help me please?!?
The darker one is my known rooster and the lighter one is the pullet(??).

Very rarely an established hen will crow when there's no rooster. Rarely. It's my understanding that pullets don't crow. I'm sorry. It took me a long time to accept my mille fluer d'uccle was a rooster.
