I hatched an egg my porcelain d'uccle layed. My rooster is a black silkie. How did we get this?

Porcelain is mille fleur + recessive lavender. Basically, you crossed a mille fleur to black, and the gold based mille fleur is showing through

It's hard to see but her down has a blueish tint to it. Looks funny with the golden head.

I had some of these. Mom was a porcelain duccle and dad was a buff silkie.
Pullets feathered out buff with limited black while cockerels feathered out buff with alot of black. As adults they were bigger than the duccle mother but had her body shape. I just sold my last one yesterday.

I would love to see pics! This chick will be fun to see grown!

I think my chicks will turn out to be a splash Silkie roo, a black Silkie hen, and a Silver Sebright hen. I know what would happen if the Silkies breed, butcurios about the Sebright and Silkie... I love seeing the different crosses' plumage!!!
