Ducclelover10's chat thread! (Continued)

That's too much stress for the poor bird. My opinion on the situation is that you should remove her as soon as possible.

Well the cranberries worked and they stopped picking at her. If they continued to pick at her I was going to ask my mom if she could stay in the house for a few days.

Thanks for the advice :D

Good! Went tubing at the river today. It's 3:14 here. I'm gonna go down to the pavilion soon. There's a couple pool tables,2 vending machines,a volleyball thingy-majig,table tennis...etc.

Have you ever tried Blu-Kote? It heals the wound and may deter the other hens. I warn you though: be very careful when using it.... It stains VERY badly and will even stain skin.

Well we don't use Blu-Kote because I read that it's bad for chickens to ingest it or breath it in, and it would be on her tail (Which she sits and preens a lot) so we didn't want to use it. My dad also used it on his chickens when I was little because he had picking problems, and it didn't work. They still picked at each other.

If they continue to pick at her I will probably separate her from them until the problem stops.
