I believe i am having chicken problems.
So i have a comet hen that is 3 yrs. old and was fine yesterday and now today, she is separating herself from eh rest of the group.
I saw here drink water a few minutes ago, she was closing her eyes

Can anyone tell me what is going on???

Thanks, Lynn
I thinks shes probably eggbound

You have to remember that not everyone can afford to continue feeding animals when they no longer give back to you. Sometimes there really isn't anything else for people to do with cattle that can't reproduce and give off milk anymore.

It's harsh, I know.... But sometimes there isn't any way to get around it when you're a cattle farmer.

My grandfather used to raise cows, so I understand a bit of what has to happen when you choose to live that lifestyle.

Exactly the lifestyle I'm doomed to live, sister. By the way, you wrote that very eloquently.

Check her for mites/lice. If you need to know how to check her, ask and I will be more than happy to inform you. If she's eggbound, you will
see her vent looking much like it doesn't normally appear, you've got a problem. Changes in feed or recent deaths of anyone in your flock?
