duccles first egg

my duccle banty, nimi, just laid her first egg- but it was close to the size of a first standard pullets egg, she was straining and groaning, and i had to help her get it out- is this common ? she was obviously having some problems with it, all puffed up with her eyes closed...

ok, here are pics, hers is the lower one, the upper egg by comparison is from my Red Star, pippin, she's only been laying a couple weeks
