Anyone else’s family roll their eyes like “what now” when you bring a duck inside?! lol we have 16, and I am hyper vigilant to their behavior and any changes warrant a once over, or day or two in the house to make sure all is well. I’m sure I go overboard, but I love these quackers and don’t want to let anything bad to happen to them!

My family of course thinks I’m a crazy duck lady… oh well!

I have chickens and do the exact same thing! It’s way better to be on top of them and have happy healthy ducks. How long have you had ducks?

On prey animals, like ducks, it is always good to look over your animals if you see small changes in their behavior. It could be nothing, bit it can also be the first signs that there is something wrong with the duck. Some of those small things have let me realize a duck was trying to lay a soft shelled egg, and in the worst case a prolapse (couldn't see till we picked her up). It certainly is not crazy with ducks. It is good husbandry.

Crazy might be taking a few hundred pictures of your ducks in one day, like me 😆. Do you have pictures of your ducks?

Oh, I totally get it. My family, friends and co-workers all think I am a crazy duck lady. And I only have 4! I go out twice a day to spend time with them, clean the coop and force some cuddles on them. Tons of pictures also happen during this time.

During the summer, I am constantly taking them to the vet for bumblefoot treatment and follow ups. And always monitoring their behavior. Even have a coop camera.

It's hard not to love them and care/worry for them.
