I have one Pekin Duck. I have asked if she can be happy to be by herself without another duck? She wondered into my yard 6 days ago. She has everything she needs, and is following me around ever where I go. She is such a cool duck. Already falling in love with her. I want the best for her. Seems like everyone is saying she needs another duck or two. Would it be ok if instead of another duck to keep her company, can it be a chicken? Can a chicken and a duck live together and get along and be happy? Can they sleep together? Will it be ok if it is a girl chicken?
Appreciate all the info you may have.

It depends on the duck and the chicken. Really. There are some good duck-chicken friends, and then there are those who dislike each other.

But your bird - I saw her on the other thread - breathtaking - would do well to have a friend of some sort. Unless you can take her with you everywhere you go, 24/7 and be her friend.

Mine all sleep together. The chickens don't love the arrangement, though, since my ducks are at the top of the pecking order and will even fly up to their roost and take over. There's no fighting, though.

From my limited experience I'd say get another duck. I've had two different groups of chickens with my ducks and in both cases they were not friends. Once I opened the door to let them free range the ducks would always go one way and the chickens another.
