Duck attacked and missing an eye

Hi,

My brown female duck was attacked by a predator yesterday and I think she’s missing an eye. Other than that and being in shock she seems to be doing well.

I’ve being spraying her with Vetericyn. Before bed last night I cleansed her head and eyes with saline (from Walmart) and put Polysporin (original) on her head wounds. She’s in our house.

Is there anything else I should be doing to help her? Thank you in advance. (P.S. what looks like discolouration on her head is from the Vetericyn gel).

You're doing the right things, you may need an oral antibiotic as well but she should be fine.

Thank you. Unfortunately no vets where I live (not even farm vets) will see ducks so I can’t get her any oral antibiotics.

Are you in the u.s? You can use Jedds.com, also pigeon fancier sites and aquarium sites often sell antibiotics

I’m in Canada. They don’t sell animal antibiotics over-the-counter here.

By the way, she has some dried blood in her nostrils. Do I leave them or should I clean them? I tried spraying them with Vetericyn and wiping with toilet paper but they’re still there. She does have a deep bucket of water.
