Duck attacked by fox penicillin shots

Okay so i tried to clean it up a little bit it's alot longer then I thought. He was stressing out alot so i sprayed vetiycin on it rubbed triple antibiotic cream on it the wound itself is that you can see inside of him it has closed alot since Friday so I'm thinking the open air method might work but let me know what you think. He's drinking alot of electrolyte water but he won't eat anything

100000000% dont cover. Since u will keep the lil one isolated you wont have to worry, about Ducks pecking at it or it getting it dirty. Most dr's dont like to stitch up bites / cuts because its ideal for infections. However since doctors have to listen to their clients and everybody wants to not have a ugly scar people request sutures.

You are doing great! Your duck is very lucky to have you.

My duck is just healing from what turned out to be a fox.

I cleaned it like you and I used hibicleanse to sanitize the wound area and then ointment and I let her go open air the whole time. I have her antibiotics starting on third day so I was late.

My ducky survived and you look like you got s great handle on it. Your doing great. How is the patient now?

I had to tube feed for 2 days. I was able to get her outside do she could interact, separated by fence and she started eating a little if I fed the other ducks near her fence.

Other than that, tube feeding is only option. @casportpony was my guide and mentor, I'm am but a peep who listen and read everything I was told to read.

One thing I did once she was eating a little was put baby parrot food in a bowl of grapes with lots of water.

Not sure why warm water is prescribed in feed because cool feed is best and water..
Put him in your tub or a tub and wash injury with warm salt water..Then Shoot peroxide into the wounds and spray with Antiseptic spray. Don't cover wound so it can heal over into a scab.. watch it daily for infection..
