duck bleeding toenail

Hi, just realized my white pekin boy has blood all over and blood in the snow. I checked the feathers where blood seemed heaviest. Didn't see any wounds. Then I saw that one of his toe nails is broken off up high and bleeding.

I don't know if I know where the quick stop is I have for my dogs. What other home remedies can you suggest? Did I hear like baking soda or something one time? Will this stop on it's own or I should put something on it?

Hey, what do you think I should do now? Now that it has stopped bleeding with the baking soda on it. I've got him shut up in the coop but he wants to go back out and sit in his water pail. Should I keep him cooped up for another half an hour or so? Will it bleed again if he goes out in the snow and in the water?
