Duck breed?

I just visited a park, and i saw some white ducks. I thought that they look really cute. They looked bigger than the regular ducks i see swimming around. Does anyone know the breed of this duck?

Yup Pekin ducks, most likely dumped off there by someone who didn't know any better. They tend to not survive long in the wild because they have very little survival instincts and they cannot fly at all, so if you are interested in taking them in or finding someone nearby willing to that might be a good idea.

Here our city park actually keeps a few domestic ducks. Yup the city chose to add them so they actually belong to the city.

Might be best to call animal control and inquire first.

I definitely second calling animal control before you do anything else, even if someone just dumped them there, they'll be more equipped to catch them and get them to somewhere safe for them. People dumping domestic ducks in the wild is actually pretty common, a lot of stupid people get ducklings and then don't know what to do with them when they're grown. I see them in the wetlands every year. They usually don't survive the winter, but you're in Florida so that's not much of an issue.

Hopefully they at least have signs saying to not feed them bread.
