I had a lovely pair of Khaki Campbells. They hatched 11 babies for me last year and were working on a new clutch of eggs in late March. Sadly, my drake was eaten :-( SO sad......
I moved the female and her nest, and Fort Knox'ed the pen, but she gave up on setting, so I've had my broody chickens on the eggs - should have a hatch any day now.
If I do get any to hatch, and if one is a male, is it ok to keep him? will he mate with his mother? will I be breeding unhealthy babies in the future? or am I just putting human stuff onto the animals?
Not sure what to do here. Advice?
