Duck brooder/material

What do you use for your ducks while they're in the brooder? Then when you move them outside do you put anything in the run? I'm looking at completely redoing my duck house/run and was just looking for suggestions.

and if you go here https://www.backyardchickens.com/newsearch?search=Duck+house+and+run you'll find some threads with pics, just remember make your run and house as pred proof as you can and don't be fooled into thinking chicken wire will protect your flock it won't. Hardware cloth and good lockable latches and good ventilation are all very important. Let us know what you come up with.

Thanks! I was hesitant to try shavings in the brooder because I have heard it can get messy. But ducks are messy anyway so I've tried it and will see what happens!
