Does she have niacin def the way she was walking made me think so.
That's my suspension, I've been treating her for it since got her, but there hasn't been much progress. Although, I will say she's not stumbling as much as she did when she was little. My father wonders if she's partially intoed as one of her feet is constantly turned inward

How old? Usually by 3-4 weeks you can hear a honk if a female but not always.
She's *quick mental math* almost 6wks old. We got her towards the end of March

Pigeoned toe is a sign of Niacin deficiency. Are you using the liquid b complex over a tasty treat just for this duckling? 1 ml daily. If your not using this I would sure get it and treat this duck.

Such a precious duck, I'm thinking you have a drake.
I hope that is okay with you.

Is this a Jumbo Pekin? looks pretty big.

Oh no😓, is it nearly 100% that it's a drake? I love it all the same, but my folks may not be too pleased. Also, there's the concern about the chickens..

I've been giving the B-complex directly for the past 4wks along with brewers yeast in the food, so I'm kinda stumped

I think Werburga is a pekin.... (I saw a little tag at the store that said pekins.) He/she was a rescue so I wasn't paying much attention to the breed😅

I'm completely new to ducks, but this little one has me smitten♡

Is this the only duck you have? Best way to keep any mating from happening with chickens is to keep them separated. Also some females just for him. I've never had any problems out of my drakes wanting to mate with the hens but they have females to keep them busy.
Does your duckling get exercise outside and swim time? Both of these will help build up leg muscles. Glad to hear you are giving the B complex.

Unfortunately, it is the only duck we have. I had no plans for ducks, but we saw this lil guy dying at the store and knew we could leave him there. Unfortunately, we just can't get another/anymore ducks- as much as I'd love to give my baby a companion :(

He does get plenty of exercise outside daily though :)

That is so sweet you took him in and got him healthy. It's okay he has you and I'm sure you'll give him a good life. Hows his bill looking today?
Sorry for the late reply- it's been a hectic week. Werburga's bill is completely healed, thank you! I have noticed some gunkey stuff around the eyes, but frequent swims and microcyin seems to be keeping it in check. We were very happy to see Werburga running the other day though!
