Duck Cleaning?

I have a duck who thinks he's a chicken. He was raised by chickens and even with water outside he has no clue how to take a bath. I noticed today that he has a lot of gunk around his eyes. How can I give him a bath to clean up around his eyes? Thx for your help!!

Does he like peas? You could put some peas in his bath, so he will dive for them. If that didn't work, then I would just dip his head in water a few times (Not drowning him though!).

I haven't tried peas with him, but it might be fun. He's so funny! He has a female buddy now whose always in the tub. He takes one look at her and gives himself an air bath. I'll try the peas. Is there anything I can use to scrub him a bit?

If it's near his eyes, then I wouldn't scrub (Unless with your finger). If you want to scrub his body, then you could get a wash cloth, and wipe him a bit, to clear debris off of him. Aside from that he should do most of the work himself.

They'll go for feeder goldfish or guppies in the water too. Or at least mine sure did!

I love to watch mine having a dry bath...well not so much dry but head dipping in a bucket and then squirming on the ground. Entertains me no end......Small things amuse small minds
