Don't you have to prepare the roof for shingles? I have like a 8' by 2.5' roof..

I think I will just do a tarp. I will try to make it look good but functionality is top priority. I thought about tin or metal but thats too loud!

We used plywood, tar paper and then corrugated metal panels on our chicken coop. It's water and predator proof.

With shingles you'll need to have plywood and tar paper.
