I have some Pekin X Aylesbury ducklings at the moment almost ready for the freezer.
I am looking to keep 3 of the females to start a new breeding group.
I have a beautiful big Saxony drake who is currently paired with a German Pekin female.
I'm wondering, meat wise, what a Saxony cross Pekin x Aylesbury would be like?
Am I better off sourcing an unrelated Pekin Drake?
We're just starting with meat ducks and I'm looking for a good size bird, but I've heard the Saxony flavour is excellent.
Has anyone perfected the meat size/ flavour combo?
We have lots of room to experiment- would love to hear the thoughts of others
