Duck doesn't swim

I used to have 2 ducks and they lived with three chickens. The ducks used to love to swim but after I brought the 3 chickens they completely stayed away from the water I have tried to put them in the water and they would just jump out. After a while one of the ducks died. The vet said the duck died because of an infection. Now the duck that is still alive has an eye infection I have been rinsing and putting drops in its eyes. My current problem is that I have bought a small pool but the duck refuses to swim in it I think it has something to do with the chickens. I don't know what to do please help.

Sorry, I am another one who knows nothing about ducks but the folks on forum Ken gave you a link to should be able to assist.
