What dimensions (height, openings) did you use for poultry netting?We have no climb horse fencing around my flocks 1/2 acre and I used zip ties to attach plastic poultry fencing along the bottom to keep chicks and ducklings from being able to go through the fence. Maybe zip ties would work for hardware cloth too?
With an area that large I know a guy that has done this and he uses electric poultry fencing. He has turkeys, quail, gunias, chickens and ducks and the area is very large that he has them all in. It works for him but I don't know if it would for you or not. Maybe someone can jump in here and tell the pros and cons of using that. He has a huge flock and a huge area with a pond in the middle of it for the ducks. Good luck with your decision.Hi. I'm am looking at fencing in my entire pond for my ducks. The pond is about 50*115'. The fence would be about 900' long. There are minks, raccoons, and foxes in the area. One of my mastiffs like to escape the fence by weighing down the top then jumping over. Which fence height and weave would be the best? I've seen these that look attractive:
Woven horse fence, 2*4" openings, 48" tall, with hotwires on top;
welded fence. 2*4" openings
Chicken wire 1" openings, 4' or 5' tall
Hardware cloth 1/2" openings
Two layers, the first woven goat fence with 4*4" openings, covered with chicken wire

Thank-you that's for the turkeys and they love it and thrive. My ducks just get to free range the farm and pond no special fenced area for them other than a place to lay eggs and nest.Wow, I love your setup!!!
WOW, mine would think they died and went to heaven with that setup. I have to remind them though that they could still be in the little bin at Rural King with 50 other ducks and they are not because they are loved and fed and watered daily, then they are happy ducks, lol.Thank-you that's for the turkeys and they love it and thrive.
