duck drakes fighting....

My drake somehow gets more furious when separated and paces and bangs on the bars/fence with his beak... Hang in there, he will be in his new home soon. He brought the confinement upon himself and as upset as he is (since he probably doesn't understand) it's better than the soup pot. Good luck. I think your girls will appreciate that you are keeping the smaller more docile drake.

thanks you guys! One more question. My Pekin's new home is one without any ducks or other animals. since he's used to a crowd, will he be ok on his own? His new home also MIGHT get chickens later down the road. any tips on raising a single child? :gig

He will need some ladies in the duck species if not he’ll be so frustrated and unhappy and if these people add chickens the hens will getting his unwanted attention and that will most likely will be a death sentence for the hens. Try and help his new family find at least 2-3 female ducks for him and not ducklings either he will want to mate with them.

Get rid of him or get him his own flock of hens. I have two separate flocks of ducks..

Try a group therapy sessions. I sit and ask my ducks "how does it make you feel when Roscoe attacks you?" All they say is Quack Quack Quack so I think we had a breakthrough.

That's probably a lot more effective than chasing him down and putting the empty colander on his head.
