Duck eats own fallen feathers

Can it cause a problem when a duck eats his own lange feathers when they fall out?

Evidently not I see mine doing it once in a while and it usually means they are craving protein so give some extra like a dry good quality dog or cat food or mealworms.

What is the protein % of their feed and are you feeding them anything else besides their feed like treats?

He gets meal worms every morning and night
And if he gets a fresh water bowl too and he gets bellpepers as in between snack. He also loves slugs. I do not know the % of protein in his food. i can take a picture of his food and sent it if you want maybe you could tell me if its good or bad.
