Duck Egg Colors...Your Input Needed

I got my first order of ducks yesterday (McMurray hatchery) and wanted to share! Rouen, Cayuga, Chocolate/White Fawn/Black Runners, Golden Hybrid, and Buff. I have another order coming in April (Holderread's) for Saxony and Welsh Harlequin.

I also wanted to thank everyone for their advice and input on this thread.

All of it was appreciated.

Did anyone mention that Dutch Hookbills lay a blue tinted egg? I get bluish eggs from a couple of my runners too.

I've been selling my duck eggs for eating at only $3 per dozen. It is way cheap, but I hate to raise the prize on my two loyal customers.

At least one (possibly two) of my runners has just started laying white eggs for the past 4 days. The females are all pretty light coloured, but I do have one blue who may lay blue eggs, we'll have to wait and see

black runners can lay black eggs also.

One of our black runners lays light blue eggs with a dark waxy cuticle on it. You can only see the blue if you scrub the eggs. The first few eggs are very dark and eventually the end up a light to medium gray.
Our other black runner lays white eggs that are occasionally slightly gray.

I am really glad that someone started this thread. I found an orange duck egg (for Halloween I'm sure) and I can't figure out who laid it. I have Giant Pekings, Black Cayuga, Blue Swedish, Rouen, and Khaki Campbell girls in a pen. The black egg is of course from a Black Cayuga, but I can't figure out who could have laid that lovely orange egg???

I have Black Swedes and Rouen ducks, My Rouens lay off white to cream color and the Swedes lay light to dark grey and occasionally whitish.
