We've got 9 eggs ready to pop! These are babies from our favorite Ducky Peso.

Live Stream here:

You'll see time in incubator and status updates... These eggs seem to be preparing for an early hatch. We are 90% sure they are mallards -- but we have some khakis in the mix. All these eggs were laid in the water at the pond edge, gathered by my son and now on the way to duck babies.

Last night (day 22.5) about 6 eggs had shadows in the air sac already, the others looks a little further behind.
This morning, 23 days complete, we have chirping (so i assume internal pip) from one of the eggs. We'll be watching closely.
Lockdown was going to start tomorrow, but I'm starting now after hearing the chirp...

Any idea how to confirm internal pip vs. just shadowing? Or is the chirp that confirmation of internal pip?

We have 6 successful pips. I did a quick snag and checked on the other 3 and there is zero movement :(. I think those 3 didn't make it. I put a safety hole just in case. They were all alive last night and 2 had shadows in the air sac. They had very small air sacs -- I'm wondering if they internal pipped and ran out of air.

The middle guy in the back row with the saddle sac -- he has pipped.

quiet chirping if we wake them up from someone in there.... Flingers crossed for completion of the 6 hatches tomorrow! Hoping they wait until morning so we can watch! But at least we'll have the video...

First zip at 25%. I saw the little guy poking his beak out. Gonna be a fun day!
