My chicken eggs started hatching yesterday and I now have 7 adorable chicks...so far...there are still 12 chicken eggs and one duck egg left....will I be able to leave the duck egg in the bator for he extra week or did it get messed up because of removing the turner to early...didn't think about that when I stuck it in there.....

You should be OK, just make sure you try and turn him a couple days after the hatch. Hopefully the chicks will roll him around a little in the mean time. Jenn

3 times a day is fine, I would also for the next 3 to 4 days take a bowl of warm water and dip the egg in it when you go to turn it one of the times. This is to simulate the mother duck going swimming and then getting back on the nest with wet feathers. I think it is also for softening the egg shell, they are much thicker then chicken eggs. When you stop turning it then stop dipping it. Good luck. Jenn

Depends what kind of duck. Typical ducks, like pekin take 28 days to hatch and muscovey take up to 35 days.

They are just black and white ducks that we got in the spring at the feed store.....when do I stop turning? it is day 25 now...

Do your ducks have red masks on their faces with pinkish bills (muscovy)? Or are they just regular duck faces( mallard derived)? You can look through my flickr site (link below) if you need to

If they are muscovies they will take 33 to 36 days to hatch. Mallard derived take 27 to 29.

Let us know!
