Duck egg is open but still hasnt hatched!

My duckling pipped on 2 days ago and had enough room to breath but it hasnt done anything since, I thought it might be struggling so ive taken off half the shell from the air sac side. As it can breath Im tempted just to leave it, but when will it become too weak? Im all for helping chicks/ducklings hatch as ive done it before, but when should i start to peel the membrane? I breifly tried earlier but it started to bleed slightly (not gushing out)

Please can someone give me some advice!

Well if the membrane is bleeding when you try to remove it then just put like a damp paper towel back over the missing shell spot leaving the pip and hope for the best and then try removing more shell and membrane later perhaps?

Right ok thanks, ive just been taking my time with it and when i remove the shell i'll always damp the membrane and put it back in, how long can i leave it though before i try and remove the membrane again?

RIGHT! Ive got the duckling out of one half of the egg, so its head is out!! WOOO. Im guessing just to leave it in the other half of the egg untill it decides to get out itself? I dont want to start messing about with anything that might be in there

Is it still breathing? moving at all? You may have rushed it and it may have passed :/ OR it culd be just suplerly weak and taking a break. I have had this expirence before.... So since then, I havent helped my eggs... I cant deal with loseing hem when they are SO close. I would use your best judgement on it. I know from a past expirence that we got the duckling out too fast and it was SUPER weak so you have to be super careful.

I had this same situation a couple of days ago and found it best to remove tiny bits of shell at a time and leave it around 3 hours with a damp towel as described above. Don't be tempted to remove the membrane while the veins are still their, they are linked in to the absorption of the yolk apparently so even if it survived the bleeding you may have issues with infection. Wait until the membrane is completely free of veins and only peel it back slightly then. If the head is out hopefully it'll start self-hatching after a wee rest. Best of luck!
