:barnie I brought in a duck egg on the 7th of August and started incubating when something killed one of my ducks & eggs were going missing. 7 has been in lockdown since Sat. September 1st. Shouldn't my duck be hatched by now?:he

Mom is white
Dad is brown
The egg has been in incubator since aug 7th so that's 29days right?

It should be fine, as it's only day 28, ducks tend to take a while to hatch. Have you candled to check for the internal pip? It will look like this: Use your phone flashlight if you don't have a purpose made egg candler. Have you been candling throughout incubation to see if it has been developing?

Another thing to keep in mind is that even if it does hatch, a solitary duckling won't do well. Do you have a way too get it a friend?

I'll call in some people who may be also be able to help:
@casportpony
@KikisGirls
@WVduckchick
@Pyxis

I have another 2 days behind this one. It's ok to candle during lockdown?
Yes. Developed well during incubation.

Did u candle throughout the incubation process? If u did multiple times the chick could have died from opening the lid to many times! Did u candle recently to see if its alive??

Awesome. Yes, I candle in lockdown and have never had issues. Is it possible for you to take a picture of the candling?

Also. The humidity is hovering 83 @ 97.5. It is not adjustable on this little incubator I bought just for hatching. It's 97.9 & 74 in my homemade styrofoam incubator.
