Duck egg on day 29 help!

I put the egg on lockdown a little past day 25. On day 26 my power went out for a few mins so i candle it he/she was in the air sag a little candle again it beak and back where in the air sag . On day 28 there was still no peeping or anything just little tapping on the end of the egg so i made a safety hole. I never hatched ducks only guineas and when they hatch you could hear peeping within an hr of them fully hatching so i got scared and made tiny hole near where it beak was today i hear alot of peeping coming from it but it still haven't try to hatch at all I'm very very worried as what i should do its taking everything in me not to take the egg out of the incubator and make sure its ok. Someone please help. Also its a pekin/Swedish egg

I have never hatched ducks, but WVduckchick has posted that they can take 40+ hours to hatch. If you are hearing peeping I would guess it's okay. It is probably still absorbing the yolk.
How long has it been since you first heard the tapping?

Between day 26 to yesterday (day 28) can only hear it if i held it up to my ear

Ok so i had to open the incubator open to let the humidity go down some and candled it can't see any veins in the top like before i made the safety hole he is in the same place as yesterday amd peeping alot should i wait till 48 hrs since i made the safety hole to help more or is there something else i could do now my humidity has been in the 70s i got it to go down to 60s when i look in the safety hole all i could see was gray with white stuff around it. Please id be very thankful for anyone that could help me it been past 24 hrs since i made the safety hole

I think as long as it is peeping it is ok. Maybe someone with more experience can help you out. @WVduckchick

I am in a similar boat. My duck egg pipped last night at 9. Today after work I came home and no more progress. I am having to work with a heating pad I made into a incubator because my tiny ebay one I bought died last week on me. Now I am scared I shrinkwrapped the baby. I am trying to rehydrate with wet tissue. No movement... No sound... I am freaking. At what point do I try to open egg (I have read how and how they can bleed to death trying to do this... ) I need to know when the risk is at the point I need to try this.
