Duck Egg Pipped the wrong end?

Thanks all, 6 out of 6 set and they hatched. The last one when I woke this morning was a little shrink wrapped, and as the others were out, I decided to help him, as his beak, wing, little foot were showing but the membrane was white and hard.
I took away a little of the shell, and put him back. He hatched on his own and dried some. But he's not so good. The others are now eating, drinking, making all they can of every bit of water!!!!
But he is still sleepy. He wakes when I talk to him, but his head wobbles, and his eyes open, but they are still half covered with something other than his eye lid. He's had sugar water and perked up briefly, but not to the extent of the others. Feel so sorry for him. He isn't walking yet, but will shuffle to occasionaly join the other 5 to sleep. Other than that, they all snuggle up and sleep and he is left on his own. I hope he improves by tomorrow. I also rang the lady I bought these "Aylesbury Eggs" from and explained they are chocolate brown and asked what other ducks she had as they were not was I was expecting to hatch! She only has Aylesbuys and Khaki Campbells and they are kept apart in different breeding pens, so she can only say that she mixed the eggs up when collecting

. They are beautiful ducklings though, and I wouldn't change them for anyhting now! I've read these can be nice ducks given input & interaction from early on.

Take a warm cotton ball and wipe his eyes, if he's got crusty stuff on him, then he couldn't have been shrink wrap sounds more like sticky. Give him a drop of vitamins, Polyvisol without iron is really good stuff.

Avoid swimming for at least one week and check his vent, if he's vent is swelled once that goes down, he'll start walking and move about more..

Normally hatching is suppose to be at the big end, this guy was upside down. What helps avoid upside downers is when u go to lock them down make sure the big end is slightly higher then the pointed end. This gives them a direction to head too. Also stop turning them four days before, don't lock them down just stop turning them and raise the bigger end up.

Kk because 3 of mine hatched from the pointed end , an they were all fine like one started hatching at the big end but then went down to the smaller end,

Well the pointed end is considered upside down, they have to aim for the Air space, otherwise they could run out of air. Good thing yours came out OK. He must have made his safe hole and could breath freely. If they don't break threw that air cell, they can die in the shell because they run out of air, that's there only supply of air, but as long as they make a hole at the pointed end and can breath they do alright.

There's actually some folks believe that you can't breed an upside downer and if you get rid of him you need to inform the current owner. Me personally. I think that's a bunch of bull crap. Hatching upside down has NOTHING to do with them breeding or nor does it have anything to do with the breed.

Its believe once an upside downer, there hatching's will be upside downers. I never heard of anything so Ridiculous..

How to get rid of predators:

1. I you want to get rid of predators but dot have enough time to stay up at night with a shotgun I have a few tricks

First , start by putting dog food out away from the ducks probably by some woods where they come from, make sure the dog food has a good meaty smell , make sure it's one piture full

Second, repeat this for a couple of days 3 weeks top, it's a process , you'll realize a decrease in danger towards your flock

Third after 3 weeks put out some sardines with the dog food with a pungent smell so they can really get the wiff of it there

Fourth soon only put out sardines and still make sure u spread around the juice so they can really get the smell

Fifth , I have this spice from a zatarans jar that my grandmother bought a long time ago, it's so hot that an once can make a human have indigestion, I'll find out the name of the spice later, but get a lot of sardines and put them in several places spread around the juice but don't put the spice on the juice just the fish, put about 4 piches or until u can almost smell it but if the smell of the spice is to strong on the fish u put to much , so make sure u put jut the right amount , when the predators eat it they will either find something to drink but leave the territory due to uneatable food or dehydrate and maybe die

I know it's a long process but it works
