Duck Egg Pipped the wrong end?

How to get rid of predators:

1. I you want to get rid of predators but dot have enough time to stay up at night with a shotgun I have a few tricks

First , start by putting dog food out away from the ducks probably by some woods where they come from, make sure the dog food has a good meaty smell , make sure it's one piture full

Second, repeat this for a couple of days 3 weeks top, it's a process , you'll realize a decrease in danger towards your flock

Third after 3 weeks put out some sardines with the dog food with a pungent smell so they can really get the wiff of it there

Fourth soon only put out sardines and still make sure u spread around the juice so they can really get the smell

Fifth , I have this spice from a zatarans jar that my grandmother bought a long time ago, it's so hot that an once can make a human have indigestion, I'll find out the name of the spice later, but get a lot of sardines and put them in several places spread around the juice but don't put the spice on the juice just the fish, put about 4 piches or until u can almost smell it but if the smell of the spice is to strong on the fish u put to much , so make sure u put jut the right amount , when the predators eat it they will either find something to drink but leave the territory due to uneatable food or dehydrate and maybe die

I know it's a long process but it works

WOW, that's cool but what about cats I have outdoors cats. Would it kill them?

Well it depends, my neighbor has 8 cats outside but they leave my ducks alone , and get rid of smaller predators like rats, if u have chickens..... I dont know and are they like wild cats or some bodies cats

They are my cats, they don't bother the chickens nor do they bother my ducks, but squirrels, mice, that's a different story..

Well then yeah , but train them not to eat that food like make sure that the good is really in the woods, and good that they eat the squirrels and nice , because I think if squirrels are hungry enough they'll eat eggs as well as mice

Sometimes they are but sometimes, they aren't. I know I hatch out call ducks and I can't tell you how many have died in the shell even AFTER they externally peeped. So you just give them a little time and once that opportunity has expired you help.

Just last week I had to help an upside downer and two weeks ago, I helped another. it's tricky to get them out but not impossible.. Over the weekend I had to help one of mine out.... LOL, I'm the helping Guru for ducks. At least that's what I have been told. LOL
I think I have found my gift as well. After successfully hatching 3 of 4 Rouen ducks from an abandoned nest, I didn’t want to lose another. The little guy had died in the shell, externally pipped from the right end, but gave up. I examined him after he passed and he looked perfect.
So, when my last duckling was pipping from the wrong end, I did some research (thanks everyone on BYC) and helped him after over 24 hours with a tiny external pip only. He came out with curled toes on one foot. My friend has adopted him and he’s doing awesome! I was sweating bullets because losing animals is so hard on me. I will share some pictures. Knowing there are 3 distinct layers to be careful of is key. I kept a good chunk of the egg attached until it dried out on its own.

Can you explain how you help them out? I'm afraid I'm going to need a Mallard/Pekin cross out & have never done it before. So scared to try....
