Duck egg protein profile

Hi everyone,

My son recently tested positive for egg white allergy. We eat a mixture of duck eggs (from the backyard) and chicken eggs (from the store). I read somewhere that duck eggs have a different protein profile then chicken eggs but for the life of me cannot find that article now. Can anyone point me in the right direction? He seems to be fine eating the duck eggs but I only have one laying hen so keeping up with demand is difficult (I am having trouble finding two more hens to add here in AZ (I have a pair of "Cayuga's")).

Keep searching this site. I know I read something along the same lines just in the last few days.. Folks were talking about the duck eggs making them sick but not store bought chicken eggs.

Cayugas are awesome,
I have two adults and the female has given me 10 eggs in the last 12 days! My wife thinks it's too creepy to eat "the babies", but I've made the eggs a few different ways and found them delicious!

Can't wait for the rest to mature, I'll have more eggs than I know what to do with.

Thanks for the interesting link. A friend found this for me http://www.aaaai.org/ask-the-expert/cross-reactivity-hen-duck-egg.aspx It wasn't exactly what I was looking for but oh well. I did find a lot of various anecdotal information out there with varied results (some could have one but not the other and some couldn't have either). It also seemed that if you are sensitive to specific grains (soy or wheat) that you could be sensitive to eggs due to the feed.
