Duck egg question

It's me again lol
So diane today has started laying soft not closed shell eggs like this. Just these 2, one big and one tiny... she is under stress bc shes separated from her mate but she has been for a few days now, they are right next to each other, and she had laid two very strong shelled eggs just the other day while separated. They have to be separated while her eye heals. Is this something I should be worried about or just a weird but normal occurence? She is getting oyster shell in her diet

Those are membrane eggs. When something stresses them, like a near miss with a predator, a move, etc, they drop the egg hours early, before they have time to put a shell around it. Maybe it'll get better once she recovers and is re-integrated.

I find one every once in a while. Nothing to worry about as long as they aren’t often. Hopefully once she heals and is back in with her buds she’ll be fine. How’s her eye doing?

I find those occasionally too, being separated probably stressed her out a bit. Glad to hear her eye is better!
