We have mites! :( I have elector psp and want to spray them tonight at bedtime but I'm concerned about them being cold. We live in upstate NY & the low is 28 tonight. Will they be OK if I don't drench them?

I've put permethrin powder in their dust bath & around the coop and plan to clean the coop after I treat them. I think my source is mice, which I'm also working on!

Hi,

Most folks here just use the permethrin powder, on the chickens too. I've heard of taking a nylon sock, putting the powder in it, then patting that all over the chicken, making sure you get under the wings and their vent area, as well as neck. You'll need to repeat this in a week to 10 days.

It sounds like you've got a handle on the mice. We have cats, but also use prevention for mice. I wrote a DIY article on how to make scent packets to deter mice.
