Do wild ducks lay eggs daily? I don't understand how a captive duck can lay eggs all the time like a chicken... it's very confusing to me.

Can someone explain?

Wild ducks lay for a short breeding season and once they have enough they sit on them just like other wild birds. Specific breeds of domestic ducks have been breed to not go broody and continue laying eggs. Modern chickens are the result of the same type of breeding.
