Duck egg suffocating!? Please, help!

Yes, I'll be sure to tell you guys:) And post lots of pictures! I would take more pictures of the air cell, but I'm nervous to touch him because it's the "lockdown" period.. So, at what point should I be worried and make a pip in the shell if I need to? Thanks!

Would it hurt the duck if I were to crack a hole above the air cell just to be safe? Is he already finishing developing, most of the time spent now is just taking in the yolk? Because I would really feel a lot better if I put a hole in... Not only because he's not pipping and the air sack is small(In my opinion), but when one of his siblings was found dead upon candling and we performed an eggautopsy, the shell was really thick.. So what do you think?

No! Just leave it! Let Nature do it's thing! You're on your 27th day now, and they don't even START hatching until the 28th day, and they can even take 48 hours until they fully hatch. Leave him be!

Well, I did it, and I feel A LOT better. Phew! And he's still moving, PLENTY big, so I have a lot of hope in this being a successful hatch! Fingers crossed! Here's a picture of my little hole, I think I did pretty good for a newbie:) (Back of a fork, slow tapping until I made a hole, and then finished with sterile tweezers). http://imgur.com/EGD95yW

He has positioned himself as well and the veins are turning purple, so I expect him to poke his face through soon!
