Hi so I have 4 female ducks and on Sunday one laid her first egg! This morning I had found two but when I went to the coop to lock them in for the night I found another without a shell... I decided to give them more water and some more oyster shells (they don’t receive any usually at night) not sure who laid them either because they all seem ready... I also don’t know if it’s because it could be one duck and 3 eggs in a day is too much. Please help I’ve read that this isn’t good and gave them shells and water for the night but I’m really worried about my ducks...

I’ve only had drake ducks, so definitely not an expert on duck eggs.
But with chickens, this is a calcium deficiency. Super common with new layers. The oyster shells should help, as will time. Don’t worry about it, it’s just because she’s new :D

Welcome to BYC.

New layers often lay soft-shelled eggs, so I wouldn't be concerned, nor would I be concerned that she has a calcium deficiency. Just provide a feed for birds her age, and a calcium supplement like Oyster shells, and she'll be fine.

Thankyou all for the feedback! They all seemed perfect after that however today I found another shelless egg and am a little concerned... is this normal...? They seem to be doing it only during the day so maybe

put out a little bowl of crushed oyster shells for her to get some extra calcium to use

Perfectly normal. As long as you have oyster shell available for them, they will be fine.their systems just need to adjust.

Thank you for all the help! should I be concerned if I got another today? Every morning I get 2 with shells and than another without... and this morning one with a shell was a little lopsided. Sorry I just wanna are sure that they are okay
