Duck egg ?

Well my mallard hen has being lay about a egg a day and she is now up to 6 eggs. I was wondering how many she will lay tell she starts to sit. Also to i need to take the drake out of is he fine to leave him in there.

She will probably start sitting after 12 eggs, give or take a few. Once she starts sitting, there is no need to keep the drake with her and personally I would put him in another pen if you have one available just to be sure he doesnt harm her and the eggs at all. In the wild, once the female starts sitting, the male mallard goes to find another female to mate.
