Duck eggs on day 22 confusion

My eggs are getting close to hatch and the clear area is totally gone bot you can still see the heart beating so I think they are good.
Are they supposed to be this way?

I am not a hatcher, but I read about hatching sometimes....

There is a sticky on hatching waterfowl (link to stickies at top of Duck Forum index). That has some photo's.

And there is the He Said She Said Who's Right Who's Wrong No One thread in the hatching forum where there are a bunch of experienced hatchers.

You can see the heart beating? Do you mean you can see the heart, you can see movement or blood flow in veins.

Today is day 24 and when I last candled them I was able to see the head moving around inside trying to get into the air sack so I am going to try not to touch them until hatch day. (It's soooo tempting

Okay, there was supposed to be an OR in my question... Not touching is good. Keep an eye out for pips, and write down when you first see a pip. 24-36 hrs from pip to unzip isn't uncommon.
