Duck eggs under bantam hen! Ideas??

I put the hen eggs under her a week after the duck eggs so all SHOULD hatch at the same time. I have had excellent luck with first time broodies before and this little hen seems very sensible!!

She will chicken eggs hatch in 3 weeks but duck eggs take 4. You should wait a week after putting the duck eggs under her to put the chicken eggs other wise she will probably stop sitting.

A friend of mine did this and said it worked out fine until the ducks took to the pond. Mama hen flapping herself silly on the shore! But since you've also got chick eggs under her maybe she'll be content with the stay-at-homes and forget about the sailors.

I hope so. Its day 14 for the ducks and day 7 for the chickens. The hen is still a healthy weight and I think this will work!

I candled a duck egg today. I saw a foot!!!!!!!!!!

I did that with my turkey I gave her chicken eggs and she did fine she took care of them as if they were turkeys she had 8 chicks
